MY BIO

Katrina Larida is an artist and fashion designer based in Stockholm, Sweden. Originally from the Philippines, Katrina Larida began her training as a portrait artist when she was 16, sketching portraits of passersby at the shopping mall. In 2016 she got in at Parsons School of Design in New York where she lived for two years, developing her knowledge of Color Theory and adapted what she learnt into her art. She was also influenced by the street art installations in New York. In 2019, Katrina exhibited at Galleri Bellman a series of paintings about the negative impact of plastics to our planet and the environment through irony—human subjects suffocated in plastic. Katrinas Plastic series is now sold out.

Katrinas art expresses her passion for sustainability and love of nature, uses symbolism in her art and executes a calculated technique. The artist recently exhibited her work at Artportable in Stockholm. Her recent works explore our unspoken vulnerabilities, some of which she experienced throughout her life. Her works are inspired by “the thoughts we keep to ourselves, things we wish to say but left unsaid, details we see but not spoken”. During Stockholm Fashion Week 2022, Katrina hosted a private art event at the stylish co-working space LAMB in the heart of Stockholm. The event was streamed live on Instagram in multiple accounts including Artportable with 10,000 + followers. The artist´s recent art exhibition was a virtual art exhibit at The Holy Art, an art gallery based in London.
